The River’s Edge Vacation Home is located at the headwaters of the Namekagon River at the junction where the river meets the Namekagon Lake. Here, you will have access to both the lake and the river as well as your own private pier! So if you enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, rafting, fishing, or just taking it easy in beautiful nature, this is the place for you. A tributary of the St. Croix River, The Namekagon River is 101 miles long. The name “Namekagon” comes from the Ojibwe language, and it means “river abundant with sturgeons”. If you’re truly a nature enthusiast, you will enjoy the prolific wildlife in this area. As much of it is still undeveloped, it is the home of many a deer, beaver, muskrat, and blue heron. There are also turtles! Don’t forget to look up as well – you’ll see eagles, hawks, and osprey. Humans aren’t the only ones who like to fish!
