If you struggle as much as I do, I recommend reading this article titled, “How to Clean a Greasy Gas Stovetop with Just Soap and Water.” When we are always using our stove tops, it's so easy to get a lot of food melting onto the cooking surface, becoming hard and crusty over time. This gunk can be so difficult to get off too, but not with this thorough tutorial!
To get started, all you will need is a sponge, some dish soap, a scrub brush, and a kitchen towel. Yep, it is that simple! Get rid of those disgusting crumbs and spots on your stovetop today, and have one that sparkles and impresses your friends. In just a few minutes, you will be staring at a stovetop that looks new. To begin, it is recommended to remove the grates and knobs. Once you have done this, grab a beautiful sponge and put some soap that smells of goodness on it. Soak it in water and then squeeze out all of the water. You want your sponge to be damp, not full of water. Nothing is worse than trying to scrub something and having water go all over. You need soap to cut the grease. A lot of water really is not necessary.
Next, you are going to start wiping down your stove and taking away all the little crumbs and removing any spots or spills. Don’t worry about scrubbing too hard. This will be the next step. On the next step, you are going to use some more elbow grease to get anything else that is left behind. Don’t worry about the soap. You will come back to this. Just make sure everything is scrubbed off. Once you every crumb and smudge has been scrubbed away, it is time for you to use a clean towel and wipe everything down. Once you have done this, scrub the grates and know and place them back in their original spots. You make think you are done after this, but you are not. The next step is to buff. You need to make sure you get all the water that is on the stovetop, including in the corners. You do not want to leave any water behind. Lastly, take your towel and wipe down the handle and window of the stove. Give your stovetop one last look over before calling it a day. It is really important to get all the water off so that it doesn’t leave spots later on your stovetop.
