Another Mexican Pizza

Italian foods and Mexican foods are two favorites. If pizzas are a food you enjoy eating, let another Mexican pizza recipe do it for you this time. Now, we all know that pizza is Italian cuisine. So, itís a bit of a twist to encounter this dish with a Mexican flare. What shall we use as the ingredients to make this recipe happen? Well, thanks to this blog that we found called Table for Seven, our dreams of combining two of the world's most delicious cuisines are about to come true! This dish is perfect for parties and for afternoon snacks when you just want to kick it with your friends.

The blog is owned by a chef, baker and photographer named Erin. Sheís been married for 15 years, and together they have six children! No wonder she is so inspired to come up with dishes like this. At first, she fed her family a lot of processed foods like the usual frozen pizza. Erin noticed her oldest sonís poor eating habits. He just would not eat anything new and he just wanted to stick to eating only the processed foods he was familiar with. When Erin saw that, she knew something had to change when it came to their eating lifestyle.

She then decided to discover and experiment new recipes to feed her family. She started making healthier dishes that eventually were embraced by her husband and kids. Now, not just his eldest son benefits from it, but the whole world because she also decided to post all her creations online. She has come a long way since her early blogging years and a lot of people go to her site to also snag her recipes. But despite of all the changes she has made on her familyís eating habits, a box of Mac and cheese and some frozen pizza can still be found on their dinner table. The only difference is that now, they just do it occasionally and itís no longer something youíd call their lifestyle dish.

For this recipe, this Mexican pizza tastes just like the one at Taco Bell. So, if you love the foods flavors from Taco Bell , you will appreciate this recipe. This is a lot healthier and less expensive than having to deal with the drive thru processed foods. The best part about this dish is that you are the one who can control the amount of meat, cheese and other toppings on this pizza. Some of the ingredients you will need for this recipe include ground beef or ground turkey, taco seasoning, refried beans, salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, tortillas and your choice of toppings such as tomatoes, green onion and olives. Start by preheating oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and brown ground beef in skillet and add in taco seasoning. Drain if needed. Spray a baking sheet with non stick cooking spray and lay one tortilla on the baking sheet. Spread with beans, then, with meat then cover with the second tortilla and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread top tortilla with salsa, then, top with cheese and desired toppings. Bake some more until the cheese is melted completely. Cool slightly before cutting.
